How long will it take to get my degree?
Most students complete their program within one to two years. The average length of time is six quarters. However, the length of your program depends on how many credits you transfer to Antioch, how many credits of learning from life experience you document and whether you attend part time or full time.
How do I get college credits for life experiences?
At Antioch, you can get credit for college-level learning from life experience. If you choose this option, you take a one-credit class with the prior learning adviser. With that person's help, you identify, describe and document your learning. You also meet with expert evaluators to assess your skills or knowledge.
Is it possible to do independent studies?
Yes. One benefit of a liberal studies education at Antioch is that you can design an independent study to incorporate a learning activity beyond the curriculum. Students build independent studies around research projects, internships, volunteer work, workshops, lectures and other learning activities.
What are the graduation requirements?
You need 180 credits including at least four quarters and 36 credits in residence. You take several courses in a core curriculum, develop your own major or area of concentration and build a portfolio of work to demonstrate college-level skills.
How much does it cost?
Antioch's costs are competitive with those of other private universities. Classes cost $400 per credit, and prior learning from life experience credits cost $100 per credit.
