Why choose Antioch’s graduate program in management?
As part of the Center for Creative Change, the Graduate Management Program (GMP) is aligned closely with programs in related fields – organizational psychology, whole systems design and environmental studies. You have opportunities to interact and strategize with faculty and students across these programs while specializing in management theory and practice.

Why an M.S. instead of an M.B.A.?
The traditional M.B.A. focuses on administrative skills, as its title suggests. The master of science program goes deeper into the skills managers need to create and sustain successful business.

Along with training in economics, finance and operations, the GMP also develops leaders who support creativity and innovation in the workplace. Students develop an enhanced awareness of group process, including an appreciation of diversity, intellectual honesty and consensus building. GMP graduates have refined problem-solving and decision-making skills to deal with the complex problems encountered in today’s business environment.

Some employers consider the approach to business and the depth of the M.S. degree preferable to an M.B.A. In fact, the M.S. degree stands out positively in a sea of traditional M.B.A. degrees.

In addition to the M.S. in management, along the way you also earn graduate certificates in integrated skills for sustainable change and business leadership and change management.

How do I benefit from studying in a Center for Creative Change program?
In the Center for Creative Change, you:

  • may choose electives from other center programs to augment your specialization area
  • take six core classes integrated with students from the other program areas
  • can wait until early into your first year of study to choose your program if you’re undecided about which degree program to pursue

What companies and organizations are represented among the students?

This variety of backgrounds greatly enriches your experience in the program. Recent employers include: Army Corps of Engineers, AT&T, The Boeing Co., the Federal Reserve Bank, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Outward Bound, Starbucks, Verizon Wireless, Virginia Mason Medical Center, the Center for Ethical Leadership and Washington State Department of Health and Human Services.
