What is the training schedule?

Sessions run 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  There are two 15-minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with a one-hour break for lunch.

Can I select sessions that I want to attend?

No. In order to receive the Case Management Certificate from Antioch University, you must attend all sessions and meet all training requirements in a satisfactory manner.

What are the requirements to receive the Case Management Certificate?

Training requirements to receive the Certificate of Completion are:

    1. Attend all sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    2. Actively participate in class discussions and activities.
    3. Submit all course requirements in a timely manner. 

Are make-ups allowed for missed assignments and/or classes?

Make-ups are allowed only for extremely extenuating and unavoidable circumstances. In addition, your supervisor must provide written approval for the request.

Is there any homework?

Yes. Each week following the training you must submit answers to four questions. You will also have to turn in two projects on the last day of the training.

Is lunch provided?

No. Participants can bring lunch or purchase lunch at the Tully’s café in the building or in any of the delis in the area. (The Antioch Tully’s is usually closed on Saturdays.) A small refrigerator and microwave are available in the building for participants to use.

Is parking provided?

Paid parking is available around the building. The campus is convenient to bus lines and is located at the north end of downtown Seattle.

What do I bring to the training sessions?

A training manual will be provided to you on the first day of training. Please bring a pen/pencil and paper for taking notes to each training session.

How will I know if I have earned the SJI-Antioch Case Management Certificate?

SJI will submit each person’s grade for the training to Antioch by February 10, 2005. Antioch will mail out certificates to SJI of all participants who satisfactorily complete the program.  The grades are based on the criteria listed on the Participant Agreement Form. SJI will then send the certificates to your supervisors.

Can you earn Continuing Education Credits with this training?

Yes.

What is the difference between the SJI-Antioch Case Management Certificate and Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

The SJI-Antioch University Case Management Certificate is a document that certifies you have participated in a 60-hour training course and have achieved the competencies of basic case management that are outlined in the course syllabus.

The Continuing Education Units are a measure of competency gained. You can earn the Certificate without the Continuing Education Units. However, if your employer needs a record of CEUs beyond the certificate itself, you will need to request a transcript.

Why would I want to earn Continuing Education Credits?

Your current job or your profession may require you to earn a certain amount of continuing education each year. For example, if you are registered with Washington state as a licensed counselor, chemical dependency counselor or mental health counselor, you are required to earn a certain number of continuing education units per year.

Do I have to pay a fee in order to get my Continuing Education Credits?

No, but in order to obtain a transcript, should you need one, you need to pay $7.
