Admission Requirements

  • Graduate-level academic skills
  • One or more years of instructional or administrative experience or other work in educational settings
  • Evidence of commitment to starting and leading educational change
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can identify your strengths and challenges as an educator and as a prospective graduate student (see form)

Admission Essay Instructions

Submit a three- to five-page, typed, double-spaced essay. Please address the following:

  1. What are your current professional interests? What excites you most as an educator?
  2. How will your participation in a master’s program inform or affect your work as an educator?
  3. Drawing from past situations requiring personal initiative, what strengths do you bring and what challenges may you face in your graduate program?
  4. What contribution(s) do you foresee making to the program? Please describe.
  5. Why are you interested in pursuing graduate study at Antioch?
  6. For First Peoples' Program applicants: Your specific reasons for applying to a Native American-focused program and working with Native American students
