Admission Requirements

1. Undergraduate-level academic skills, including upper-division writing and critical thinking skills
2. Demonstrated ability to initiate and carry out independent academic work, including a high degree of responsibility and skills in self-directed learning
3. Strong ability to work collaboratively with others in an interactive learning environment
4. During your interview, you will be asked to complete a writing sample.

Admission Essay Instructions

The B.A. program requires an interest in and a capacity for self-reflection, personal commitment to your educational goals, demonstration of your academic skills, and openness to new and diverse perspectives. The essay provides an opportunity for you to begin this reflective process.

Use the following questions to shape a three- to five-page, typed, double-spaced essay. Be sure your essay addresses who you are and what has brought you to this point in your educational development, your reasons for wanting to attend Antioch and the major interest areas around which you might focus your degree program.

Specifically, please address:

1. What experiences in your life have been most significant in the development of your thoughts, values and sense of personal identity?
2. What characteristics of learning experiences have been the most and least positive for you?
3. What are your goals for your learning at Antioch? What strengths have you developed as a student that will help you attain your goals? What do you see as challenges you will face in completing this degree?
